Chhattisgarh: Hira Group’s plants resume operation partially

The Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL), an arm of Hira Group of Industries based in Chhattisgarh, has started partially production in the units shut down last month.

“This has reference to our earlier communication dated 11th February, 2023 to Stock Exchanges, pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligation and Disclosure Requirement) Regulations, 2015, vides
which we have informed that the Shutdown of Sponge Iron Plant and Other Plants, etc. at Siltara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh,” GPIL said in a regulatory filing.

“We wish to inform that the Sponge Iron Plant, Power Plants, Steel Melting Shop (SMS Plant), Rolling Mill and Wire Drawing Plants at Siltara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh have partially resumed its operations w.e.f. 24th March, 2023,” it added.

The complete operations are expected to be resumed w.e.f. 1st April, 2023 onwards, GPIL said.

GPIL is a flagship Company of Raipur-based Hira Group of Industries, incorporated by B L Agrawal in 1999, having dominant presence in the long product segment of the Steel industry, mainly into mild steel wire. Today, GPIL is an end-to-end manufacturer of mild steel wires. In the process, the company manufactures sponge iron, billets, Ferro alloys, captive power, wires rods (through subsidiary company), steel wires, Oxygen gas, fly ash brick and last but not the least iron ore pellets.

The company is also awarded rights for Iron Ore Mining for captive consumption, as a result of which, the company has managed to traverse the entire value chain (raw material to final product) in steel wires and has now become a fully integrated steel manufacturer.
