Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday inked agreements for setting up of Export Facilitation Centre of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Kolkata (IIFT) and Training Centre of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad in Chhattisgarh.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan. Establishment of the Facilitation Centre of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Chhattisgarh will provide guidance to businessmen exporting from Chhattisgarh. Export activities will increase from the state. Exporting entrepreneurs will get guidance regarding the goods to be exported, certification of products, market information and at what price to export.
Along with this, the youth of the state will be given training in entrepreneurship development from the training centre to be set up in Chhattisgarh by Indian Entrepreneurship Development Institute Ahmedabad. Establishment of these two national level centres in the state will encourage business and commercial activities in the state.
Sai said Chhattisgarh is a rich state in terms of mineral resources and forest wealth. The land here is fertile. The intention of the state government is that more and more industries should be established in Chhattisgarh, commerce and trade should grow so that more and more of our educated sons and daughters can get employment. There is a need to connect educated youth with industries. The youth will move towards entrepreneurship.
The Chief Minister said that the establishment of Export Facilitation Center in Export Chhattisgarh will increase the export of Chhattisgarh’s products abroad and the establishment of Entrepreneurship Training Center will encourage our youth to establish industries and expand the existing industries and will enable them to do so.
The Chief Minister said that illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed country by the year 2047. In Chhattisgarh too, they are preparing a vision document for the creation of a developed Chhattisgarh. Every possible effort is being made by the state government to increase industry and trade in our state. He said that the visit of the national institutions with which MoU has been signed today will prove to be a milestone for the development of Chhattisgarh.
The MoU for setting up the facilitation center of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IITF) in Chhattisgarh was signed by Secretary of Commerce and Industry Department of the State Government Ankit Anand and Head of IIFT Kolkata Dr K Rangarajan and the MoU for setting up the training center of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India Ahmedabad (EDII) was signed by Director General of EDII Dr Sunil Shukla.
The state government will provide space in Udyog Bhawan, Raipur and an amount of about Rs 75 lakh in a period of three years to the IIFT to operate the Facilitation Centre. Similarly, the state government will provide space and an amount of about Rs 325 crore for the establishment of the training centre of EDII.
