With the encouragement and support of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, around 55 citizen affected by the violence inflicted by the outlawed Maoists in Bastar staged a protest today at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar under the banner of “Kenja Naxali-Manwa Mata” (Listen, Naxals, to Our Plea).
The Chief Minister inspired the victims to raise their voices at the national level and supported them in taking this significant step to bring attention to their suffering.
Sai has consistently engaged with the Maoist-affected families of Bastar, understanding their hardships firsthand. He recognized the need to bring their grievances beyond the state and ensure that their voices are heard across the country. His leadership has been crucial in motivating these victims to come forward and hold this protest in Delhi.
During the protest, the victims shared the physical, mental, and social hardships they have endured due to Maoist violence. They spoke about how the ongoing violence has disrupted their lives and hindered development in their villages. The protesters called on the government to take strict action against Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and urged for the restoration of lasting peace and security in their region.
Following the protest, the group is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the current situation in Bastar. They will submit a memorandum outlining demands for peace restoration, faster development projects, and proper deployment of security forces to safeguard the region.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative has given a platform to the Maoist victims of Bastar to voice their concerns at the national level. His support has renewed hope for justice and peace among these affected families, paving the way for a more peaceful and developed Bastar in the future.
