Chhattisgarh: Maoists gut road construction vehicles on fire in Gadchiroli

Maoists cadre had escalated the target to stall the infrastructure projects and set vehicles on fire that were engaged in a road construction work in adjoining Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.

Two days ago, rebels had torched vehicles in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.

Reports reaching Gadchiroli armed Maoists struck at Etapalli area of the district and set one Poclain, tractor, 1 Ajax vehicle on fire. The vehicles were engaged in the road construction work going on between Surjagarh and Parsagondi of Etapalli tehsil in the district.

The incident took place under the limits of Etapalli police station on Friday morning. The place of incident is the border area adjacent to Chhattisgarh. Case of Hedri police station area of Etapalli tehsil.

Police sources said this was the second incident in a week when Maoists gutted vehicles engaged in the development projects.

On Wednesday, Maoists targeted a telecom project in Bada village of Sukma district. The rebels raided the place and set vehicles on fire before bashing up the employees engaged in the work.
