Raipur, February 9
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the security forces for the major success in the operation conducted against the Left Wing Extremists (LWEs) in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
The security forces gunned down 31 Maoists in what could be termed as biggest casualty inflicted on rebels in the state. A huge cache of arms and ammunition that include sophisticated weapons have been recovered from the spot. Two security persons made their supreme sacrifice during the action.
Terming it a significant step towards a Maoist-free state, Sai said Bastar was now transitioning from “Gun-tantra” (rule of the gun) to “Gan-tantra” (rule of democracy).
Applauding the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sai credited the success of the anti-Maoist campaign to their visionary policies and robust security strategy. “Under the decisive leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Chhattisgarh will be completely free of Naxalism by March 2026. Their far-sighted approach and strong national security framework have empowered our security forces to achieve consistent victories in this battle,” he stated.
Sai commended the security forces for their extraordinary courage and tactical prowess in neutralizing 31 insurgents in a high-intensity operation in Bijapur. He described the mission as a landmark achievement in Chhattisgarh’s fight against Left-Wing Extremism (LWE).
“Our brave soldiers have stormed into the strongholds of left-wing insurgents, striking at the very core of their operations. Their unparalleled bravery and operational excellence reflect the commitment and strength of our security forces,” he said. Expressing deep sorrow over the sacrifice of two security personnel in the operation, Sai said, “Their martyrdom is a profound loss for the state and the nation. I extend my heartfelt condolences to their families. Their supreme sacrifice will not go in vain. We stand by their families and will ensure all necessary support.”
CM Sai affirmed that Chhattisgarh is at a decisive juncture in its battle against Naxalism. “The countdown to the complete eradication of Naxalism has begun. Bastar is now witnessing a paradigm shift—from fear to freedom, from violence to progress. By March 31, 2026, Chhattisgarh will be completely liberated from Naxal extremism. This is not just a commitment but a solemn pledge to every citizen of the state,” he declared.
He further emphasized that the ongoing success of security forces, coupled with the government’s welfare programs, is paving the way for peace, security, and development in Bastar and other affected regions. “With every victory against Maoism, and with the implementation of pro-people policies, the echoes of a secure and prosperous future are now resonating across Bastar,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a peaceful, prosperous, and Maoist-free Chhattisgarh. “Our security forces will continue their operations with full intensity. Simultaneously, our government will ensure that development reaches every village and every citizen of Bastar. We will replace fear with opportunities, and destruction with development,” he said.
