Coal rake dispatch begins from NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mines to Lara station in Chhattisgarh

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) limited today dispatched the first coal rake from captive Talaipalli coal mines to Lara Super Thermal Power Project in Chhattisgarh.
Both mine and power station are located in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district at a distance of 65 km.
The Ministry of Mine had allocated the Taliapalli coal block to NTPC in 2015 to develop a captive coal mine for its nearby Lara station having a capacity of 1600 MW . Chhattisgarh is getting 50 per cent of the power produced in the station.
The mine is a combined open-pit and underground coal mining project developed in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh by country’s largest power producer.
The Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NTPC, Gurdeep Singh and Chandan Kumar Mondol, Director (Commercial) NTPC along with RED (Coal Mining) Partha Mazumder and RED (WR II and OS) Ashwini Kumar Tripathy flagged off the first Coal Rake dispatch from NTPC Talaipalli to NTPC Lara Super Thermal Power Project.
Diwakar Kaushik, BUH (Lara), S K Ray, BUH (Talaipali) and Neeraj Jalota, BUH (Dulanga) and other senior officials were present in the flagging-off ceremony.
The commencement of rake loading paves the way forward for Talaipalli Mine to dispatch coal in a smooth and eco-friendly manner to meet the coal requirements of NTPC Lara.
The project is expected to produce up to 18.72 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of coal over an estimated mine life of 52 years.
Upon reaching the coal rake at Lara station a small function was organized. Diwakar Kaushik, CGM (Lara) expressed his happiness and congratulates all employees for this historical moment of Lara station. Addressing the employees, Kaushik praised the effort of each employee who was associated with this work and urged everyone to put their best effort to take Lara station to new heights.
