A lady district panchayat member in Chhattisgarh’s Mungeli district made a vain attempt to assault an Indian Administration Officer (IAS) with sandal.
According to reports reaching from Mungeli, Laila Nanku Bhikhari today afternoon reached the office of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of District Panchayat Rohit Vyas for some work. The duo entered into a heated argument that took an ugly twist when the member took off her sandal and tried to assault the 2017-batch IAS officer.
The CEO left the chamber and rushed to the corridor. The panchayat member, affiliated to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and backing the Congress in the panchayat, chased the officer carrying the sandal that was caught on camera.
Later, the member reached the office of Superintendent of Police and demanded action against the CEO for allegedly abusing her on caste line.
The CEO is also reported to have lodged a complaint with the police against the lady panchayat member.
