The second week of January has great significance for those who love nature and horticulture as the flower exhibition organised by Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) in collaboration with state agencies fragrance the Chhattisgarh capital.
For the last 13 years, JSP has been organising the event at Gandhi Udyan, located in the heart of Chhattisgarh capital, in the second week of January. The event is organised in alliance with Back to Nature, state government’s horticulture department and Indira Gandhi Agriculture University.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in presence of JSP President Pradeep Tandon and other dignitaries on Saturday while state’s Urban Development Minister Shiv Daharia concluded the show on Monday. The show enthralled the denizens as the visitors continued to throng the place till night.
The flowers decorated in the bullock cart at the JSP venue was the attraction of the event. This year, over six hundred species of flowers have been displayed for the people. Besides adjoining districts, visitors from different parts of the also turned up to have the glimpse of a mesmerising show.
Besides the flower show, hybrid vegetables and fruits stalls engrossed the people. Floral arts displayed by individuals and organisations were also the highlights of the event.
