The Chhattisgarh government will recommend a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the sensational Sadharam Yadav murder case that took place in Kawardha district on January 20.
Sadharam Yadav was working as a shepherd in Lalpur Gauthan under Kotwali police station limits. On January 20, his body was discovered on the roadside. He was brutally killed by slitting throat.
Being the home district of Chhattisgarh’s Home Minister Vijay Sharma, the police swung into action and nabbed four persons in connection with the murder. The four accused, which include a juvenile, belonged to a minority community.
The relatives of Sadharam called on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday and sought justice. Though the culprits have been arrested in the case, the relatives demanded a high-level investigation into the incident and strict punishment for the guilty.
Sai observed that merely condemning the incident was not enough. The Chief Minister assured them and said the case would be handed over to the country’s premier investigating agency, the NIA for further investigation.
