The Chhattisgarh cabinet Wednesday approved the two flagship schemes and gave its nod to handover the infamous Public Service Commission (PSC) scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the Cabinet Meeting held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan.
The Cabinet decided to handover the case of alleged irregularities in the Chhattisgarh State Civil Service Examination-2021, conducted by Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CG PSC) to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for thorough investigation. Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission has released the selection list for recruitment on 170 posts in 12 departments under the State Service Examination-2021.
In the interest of farmers, Cabinet has decided to procure a maximum of 21 quintals of paddy per acre (including linking) from the farmers of the state at support price in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. With this decision of the Cabinet, the Chhattisgarh government’s promise of purchasing 21 quintals of paddy from farmers has been fulfilled. It is noteworthy that paddy procurement was also a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ guarantee.
The Chhattisgarh government has taken a major decision in the interest of Antyodaya and priority ration card holding families of the state. In the Cabinet Meeting held today, the decision to distribute free food grains to ‘Antyoday’ and ‘priority’ category beneficiaries for the next five years has been taken. This will benefit 67 lakh 92 thousand 153 ration cards holding families of the state and they will receive food grains for the next 5 years. Free rice will also be made available at ration shops.
The Cabinet has decided to distribute free food grains on Antyodaya and Priority Ration Cards in the state under Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act 2012, similar to the distribution under the National Food Security Act-2013 for the next 5 years starting January 2024.
