Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday unveiled the travelogue ‘Meri Nazar Se Arunachal Pradesh’ at the Assembly premises.
The book is based on the Arunachal Pradesh study tour of the Press Gallery Advisory Committee members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and has been written by Dr Avadhesh Mishra, State Editor of electronic TV channel BSTV.
On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said that travel holds special importance in life. It not only helps in relieving stress but also rejuvenates the mind and infuses fresh energy. Sharing his experiences, he said that he regularly reads travelogues and developed this interest after reading the works of Rahul Sankrityayan. Through travelogues, readers can understand the geography, culture and lifestyle of different regions of the country and abroad while sitting at home.
Congratulating Dr Avadhesh Mishra, Dr Singh said that documenting the journey of the Journalists’ Gallery Advisory Committee is a commendable initiative and this travelogue will also prove useful for tourists. He said that India itself has so many picturesque destinations that there is no need to travel abroad. The North East has a distinct identity for its natural beauty, cultural heritage and clean environment.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the occasion as historic and extended greetings to all journalists. He said that travelling to a beautiful state like Arunachal Pradesh through the Assembly and presenting those experiences to the people through writing is a praiseworthy effort. The Chief Minister said that during his tenure as Minister of State, he undertook several tours of North Eastern states and, under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, development works gained momentum there. Congratulating Dr Avadhesh Mishra on the travelogue, he said the book will serve as a guide for tourists and will inspire others to take up travel writing in the future.
On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Dr Charandas Mahant, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, MLA Dharamlal Kaushik, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Pankaj Jha, Chhattisgarh Sahitya Parishad President Shashank Sharma, senior journalist Babulal Sharma, Krishna Das, Yashwant Dhote and a large number of journalists and eminent citizens were present.
