Chhattisgarh has seen a sudden surge in the number of deaths related to COVID and comorbidities on Thursday.
According to the state’s health department bulletin, the state registered 15 deaths on Thursday compared to nine on Wednesday. Of the deaths, four were due to COVID while 11 were due to comorbidities, the bulletin added.
Maximum deaths have been reported in Raipur district where 5 people died. Two deaths each have been reported in Durg, Balodabazar, Korba, Champa-Janjgir while Koriya and Bilaspur districts accounted for one death each.
Compared to Wednesday’s figure of 5625, the number of fresh COVID cases in Chhattisgarh saw a marginal rise on Thursday. In all, 5649 COVID cases were reported across the state today while 5919 people were discharged from hospitals and home isolation.
