Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy celebrated the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas)” on Sunday at the Academy under the guidance of Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice and Patron in Chief of the Academy.
Though the Chief Justice could not be present on this occasion as he was in Delhi on the constitution day celebration. He however sent his good wishes to all the judges of Chhattisgarh. Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas and Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Judges of Chhattisgarh High Court graced the occasion. As an important part of the celebration the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read. All
the District Judges of the State, officials of the High Court Registry and Judges posted in Bilaspur district also participated on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest on this occasion, Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas said, “It should be the primary duty of the judges to connect the people to the justice system by simplifying it in following the Constitution.” he added that many rights have been provided to the citizens in the Constitution. It is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that every person gets complete justice by maintaining a transparent justice system.
He highlighted the basic differences of Indian constitution than that of other countries with examples indicating the prerequisites of the constitution such as societal, familial and individual needs. The preamble of Indian Constitution i.e India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic which is aiming to secure justice, liberty, equality to all citizens and promote fraternity to maintain unity and integrity of the nation were stressed in his speech as these rights are necessity and are not a privilege.
The importance of the Indian Constitution was highlighted by Justice Rakesh Kumar Pandey, who was present as a special guest in the program. He told that the Indian Constitution protects the fundamental rights of every citizen while protecting the interests of the citizens. He emphasized the importance of Constitution Day, the significance of its celebration and commemorated the people who contributed to the development of Indian constitution.
Under the able guidance of the Chief Justice a colloquium of all the district Judges of the State was also organised by the Academy. The object of this colloquium was to discuss the challenges before the District Judiciary and way forward.

Discussion regarding the challenges facing the judiciary and the steps to be taken to resolve them was the main highlights of this colloquium .It is noteworthy that ever since Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha took charge in Chhattisgarh High Court he is continuously providing new heights to the level of Chhattisgarh Judiciary.
It is also noteworthy that every step of the Chief Justice is in accordance with the intention of the Constitution On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the bust of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi has been installed in the Chhattisgarh High Court building and also the plaque of the Preamble of the Constitution and the national emblem (Ashoka emblem), have been installed in the High Court
complex to enhance the dignity of the High Court.
It is also noteworthy here that during the short tenure of seven months of Hon’ble Shri Ramesh Sinha ,he after visiting all the districts, had made every possible effort to remove the difficulties and shortcomings seen in the District courts. After he took charge, there has been a radical change in the working style of the district Judiciary of the state.
The Chief Justice has Not only By taking personal interest in the training programs conducted by the state Judicial Academy have improved the standard of the training courses but has also taken keen interest to remove obstacles in the field of health issues ,access of school education facilities to the Children of the state, construction works that creates obstacles in the way of day to day life of Common man of Chhattisgarh. He, by taking cognisance on the news published in newspapers regarding the above matters, have registered the news as PIL and passed various orders to improve these disorders.
