The Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy is conducting a 5 days training programme for the Judicial Officers of Bangladesh from January 27 to February 2 at CSJA.
It is a historic moment for the State Judicial Academy because it the first time that an International Training is organised at the Academy under the guidance of Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court and Patron in chief of the Academy and Chairman Justice Sanjay K Agrawal. The inaugural ceremony of the training program was conducted on Sunday.
The Phase II training program of National Judicial Academy for the Judges and Judicial officers of Bangladesh conducted by the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy marks a significant milestone in academies efforts to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the judiciary.
Though the Chief Justice could not be physically present on this occasion as he was in Delhi for some official commitments, he joined the program virtually. He extended his warm welcome to the judges of Bangladesh and said that in the present time it is mandatory for judiciary to adapt and learn from each other’s experiences.
On this important event, Justice Sanjay K Agrawal, Justice Sanjay S Agrawal, Justice P P Sahu, Justice Deepak Tiwari, Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, and Justice Ravindra Agrawal were present. About 300 Judges from the District Judiciary of the State, officials of the High Court Registry also participated on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest on this occasion, High Court Justice Sanjay K Agrawal, Judge High Court of Chhattisgarh and Chairman Committee to Monitor the Functioning of CSJA, informed that the training is organised under the memorandum of understanding between the National Judicial Academy, India and the Supreme Court of Bangladesh as the Phase II of the training program of National Judicial Academy for the Judicial Officers of Bangladesh.
He said that the training program offers an extensive curriculum, covering critical areas of law and jurisprudence, the recent developments in Civil and Criminal Law, crime against women, protection of child rights through interactive sessions and lectures delivered by legal scholars from law universities and experienced judges from India.
The welcome address was given by Justice Rakesh Kumar Pandey. He welcomed all the Judicial Officers from Bangladesh and from the district Judiciary. He shared that there is much that unites the two countries He said that the national Anthem that both countries sing are written by Shri Rabindra Nath Tagore.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Smt Sushma Sawant, Director Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy and the program was conducted by Smt Garima Sharma Additional Director. As the training program unfolds over the coming weeks, the State Judicial Academy looks forward to witnessing the transformative impact it will have on the judicial community, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the legal system in Bangladesh.
