Chhattisgarh Sushasan Tihar: CM hints axing Collector, SP for laxity

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Monday conducted comprehensive review of the government schemes, construction works and public welfare programs being run in three districts of Janjgir-Champa, Sakti and Korba.

Earlier, Sai reached Janjgir-Champa today after visiting Sakti, Korba district on the first day of the start of the third phase of the state government’s Sushasan Tihar. He held a high-level meeting at Janjgir-Champa and reviewed the updated status of implementation of government schemes and programmes.

During the meeting, he expressed displeasure over the delay in approval of roads approved in Janjgir-Champa district in the budget in the last financial year and directed to send immediate proposals on priority basis.

The Chief Minister said in the meeting that the state government was working to establish good governance in the state with transparency. In the episode, Sushasan Tihar is being celebrated in the state. After completion of two phases of Sushasan Tihar, the third phase has started from today. He said that good work has been done in the last one and a half years but there is a need to increase its speed and quality. Collector, SP should do more good work while officers should visit rural areas as much as possible.

He asked the officials to act cordially with the general public and public representatives. He directed the officials to discharge their responsibilities honestly with full dedication. Sai clearly said in the meeting that negligence in public interest works will not be tolerated and the Collector and SP will be directly responsible for it in the respective district.

The Chief Minister directed the district collectors to complete the process of determining district-wise routes soon for the effective implementation of the Rural Bus Facility Scheme. He said that the scheme is a big initiative towards providing transport facilities to the villagers. He inquired about the updated status of institutional delivery, sickle cell screening and drinking water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed that income, caste and residence certificates should be distributed to the students studying in schools as soon as the session starts.

While reviewing the progress of revenue records, ownership scheme, Ayushman Bharat, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme etc., the Chief Minister directed to provide the benefits of beneficiary-oriented schemes to the eligible people.

Sai directed the Chief Medical and Health Officers to make the general public aware of the use of generic medicines and motivate doctors to prescribe generic medicines to patients, so that medicines can be obtained at subsidized rates from Jan Aushadhi Kendras. While instructing the Agriculture Department to promote peanut cultivation under crop cycle change, he also reviewed the preparation for fertilizer-seed storage and distribution.

The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the slow progress of 47 thousand houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana. The lack of masons and centering teams was cited as the main reason by the officials. Sai directed to solve the problem by training rural youth as masons. Also, he clarified that arrangements for free sand supply have already been made under the scheme, in which the beneficiaries should not face any kind of problem.

Sai said that in a joint family, there is a hindrance in housing approval if there is no land in the name of married sons. In such a situation, if the father writes a donation letter of just Rs 500, then its benefit can be availed.

Finance Minister and Minister in charge of the district O P Choudhary directed to train the officers by organizing special technical workshops to make the 10 new public welfare facilities started by the Registration Department reach the general public.

The Chief Minister finally directed the officers to maintain respectful dialogue with public representatives and common citizens and ensure their active role in building an inclusive and developed future of Chhattisgarh.

MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister P Dayanand, Collectors of all three districts, Superintendents of Police and senior officers of all departments were present in the meeting.
