Chhattisgarh government will disburse the second installment of unemployment allowance to the eligible beneficiaries on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will transfer Rs 32,35,25,000 in the account of 1,05,395 eligible youths at a function, the state government spokesperson said. The Congress government in Chhattisgarh has launched the scheme to provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 2500 to the youths every month.
The first instalment of Rs 16.54 crore was transferred in the account of 66,256 beneficiaries on April 30. This would be the second instalment. With this, the state government would transfer Rs 48.89 crore in the account of around 170,000 youths under the scheme.
The spokesperson said 1680 cases were pending for appeal as the application for the unemployment allowances were scrutinized as per the rules. The applicants denied the benefit had been given option to file an appeal. The District Collector had been appointed as appellate authority. The spokesperson said out of these, allowance has been approved in 187 cases.
In all, 493 cases have been rejected and 1001 cases are still pending. A system has also been given to lodge complaints online in the portal. As of now, 2942 complaints have been received. Out of these, 1425 complaints have been redressed while action has been initiated in the remaining.
When youths are filling applications for unemployment allowance, they have been given the option of skill development and training so that they can get a job or start a business. So far, training of 1701 youth has started in 33 institutes including Livelihood Colleges.
