Raipur, December 2

As the new year approaches, Chhattisgarh is preparing to immerse itself once again in a vibrant literary celebration.

The Raipur Literature Festival will be held in Nava Raipur from January 23 to 25, bringing together more than 100 distinguished Litterateurs from across the country. This event was conceptualized by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of the State’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, and now this event is taking the shape of reality. Sai today unveiled the official logo of the Raipur Literature Festival at his residence office.

Speaking at the unveiling, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that as Chhattisgarh celebrates 25 years of its formation, the Raipur Literature Festival stands as an important chapter in the State’s Silver Jubilee year. He noted that the festival will not only offer a shared platform for leading literary voices from across India but will also give readers and citizens an opportunity to engage with a rich spectrum of thoughts, experiences and creative expressions. Shri Sai expressed confidence that the event will carve out a new literary identity for Chhattisgarh and inspire people across the State to deepen their engagement with reading, writing and the world of ideas. He added that the festival will also serve as a constructive forum for social dialogue, thereby contributing to the State’s development initiatives.

Driven by the vision of the Chief Minister, a comprehensive plan for the event has been prepared within a short span of two months. The three-day festival will be held from January 23 to 25, 2026 near the Tribal Museum.

A total of 11 sessions will be conducted at the festival, including five parallel sessions, four plenary sessions and three interactive dialogue sessions, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with authors and thinkers.

Festival Logo Symbolises Chhattisgarh’s Cultural and Literary Essence

The logo of the upcoming Raipur Literature Festival offers an evocative representation of Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and literary heritage. It captures, in a single artistic motif, the State’s identity, the biodiversity of Bastar, its tribal traditions, and the cultural significance of the iconic salfi tree, often regarded as the spirit of Chhattisgarh.

By depicting the salfi tree in the shape of the Chhattisgarh map, the logo conveys that the State’s civilisation, culture and literature are deeply rooted in its soil. The salfi tree, revered for centuries, symbolises ancestral traditions, unity and social harmony. Its presence in the logo also affirms that tribal literature, indigenous beliefs and traditional knowledge continue to hold a central place in Chhattisgarh’s contemporary literary landscape.

The phrase “Aadi se Anaadi tak”, inscribed within the logo, signifies the timeless journey of literature — a continuum from ancient compositions to ever-evolving modern narratives. It reflects the enduring message that literature transcends time, connecting ages, languages, societies and generations.

Similarly, the inclusion of the line “Sursari sam sabke hit hoi” likens literature to the sacred River Ganga — free-flowing, inclusive and beneficial to all. It underscores literature’s role as a universal force that embraces all castes, communities, traditions and ways of life, guiding society towards collective welfare.

The Raipur Literature Festival logo is a source of cultural pride for the people of Chhattisgarh. It beautifully weaves together the State’s ancient literary roots, tribal heritage, social harmony and contemporary creative spirit. It carries a powerful message: Chhattisgarh’s literary tradition, flowing “from the primordial to the eternal,” remains vibrant, unbroken and ever-evolving — ready to script new chapters of growth and imagination in the years ahead.
