Chhattisgarh to unveil new industrial policy on November 1

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the state’s new industrial policy and the vision document would also be released on the occasion of state foundation day on November 1.

The state government envisaged that new industries should be established, value addition should be done in Chhattisgarh and local youth should get employment, Sai said while interacting with a group of industrialists to seek suggestions on the new industrial policy 2024-29 at his residence office here on Tuesday. Secretary to the Chief Minister, P Dayanand and leading industrialists from the state were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said the important suggestions given by the industrialists regarding the new industrial policy would be sent to the state’s industry minister and the policy drafting committee. After examining all the suggestions, the important clauses will be incorporated in the new industrial policy, he said, adding that the new industrial policy and the vision document for Viksit Chhattisgarh will be released on November 1 that marks the state’s foundation day.

Sai said the state government would provide all possible support for the establishment of industries in the state. He added that there were abundant reserves of natural resources and precious minerals in the state while minor forest produce was available in plenty. “Whether it is minerals or minor forest produce, their value addition should be done in Chhattisgarh itself so that the state gets its benefit,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that hundreds of MoUs were signed in the last 5 years but it could not take shape. The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conceptualized a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and has set a target of making India the third largest economy in the world in the next 5 years. To achieve these goals, they will build a developed Chhattisgarh, Sai said.

The Chief Minister said that there was a lot of potential for value addition of minor forest produce, dairy industry, downstream industry in the steel industry. Chhattisgarh is a power surplus state, so data centers can be set up here because it consumes huge electricity.

The industrialists appreciated the single window system and the efforts of the Chief Minister to promote industries for employment generation. They urged the Chief Minister to also determine a time framework for the single window system.
