The cricket team of Urban Administration trounced Mantralaya team by two wickets to lift the cricket trophy in the Nava Raipur Premier League tournament.
The Mantralaya team won the toss and elected to bat. The team scored 91 runs in the stipulated 10 overs and gave a target of 92 runs to the Urban Administration team. With an average of over 9 runs per over, the target was not easy.
With the initial fall of wickets, the match headed for a close finish. At one point, the supporters in the Urban Administration camp held their breath when the margin went up with the target to score 50 runs in just 18 balls.
But the superb performance of Imran Khan in the pitch paved the way for the Urban Administration team to inch closer to the victory margin. In the nail-biting finish, Khan hit the last ball to require the winning one run with two wickets in hand.
The superb performance of Imran Khan has made him the strong contender for the man-of-the-tournament. He had been adjudged man-of-the-match in the last three matches.
Senior officials of the department including Deputy Director K Sundrani, Assistant Director Jayprakash Sahu along with others turned up to watch and cheer up the team.
