In the midst of preparations for the Legislative Assembly elections 2023 in Chhattisgarh, the BJP on Saturday announced the list of the new national executive committee.
Three faces of Chhattisgarh have found a place in the list. The party has retained former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh as the national vice-president, while two women from the state have been made new vice-presidents. They are Lata Usendi and Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey.
In view of the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Uttar Pradesh that has 80 seats, the BJP has included seven people from the state in the national executive. Former BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai has been made the national vice-president.
National General Secretary Arun Singh and Radha Mohan Agarwal have been given a place in the national organization from Uttar Pradesh. Shiv Prakash from Lucknow has been made the National Co-Organization General Secretary. Member of Parliament Surendra Singh Nagar has been made the National Secretary from Uttar Pradesh.
Rajesh Agarwal from Uttar Pradesh has been appointed as the treasurer.
The BJP appointed Tariq Mansoor, a leading Pasmanda Muslim from Uttar Pradesh and a former vice chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University as national vice president. Mansoor’s appointment is the top highlight of BJP chief JP Nadda’s new team which also gives place to MP Sanjay Bandi, who was recently dropped as Telangana BJP chief.
Anil Antony, the son of Congress veteran and powerful Kerala politician AK Antony, has been appointed as national secretary of the BJP. Anil had joined the BJP recently and will contest the next Lok Sabha election.
Abdullah Kutty from Kerala has also been given the post of vice president.
