Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday participated in the Cartoon Festival-2024 organized by Cartoon Watch magazine sharing lighter moments with the audience.

Addressing the program, Sai Cartoon is such an art by which the entire thing is expressed in a very short space with clarity in an entertaining and satirical manner. A small cartoon says a lot. Sometimes what is written in half a page in an editorial is expressed only through a cartoon.

The Chief Minister felicitated Indore cartoonist Ismail Lahiri for his outstanding contribution in the field of cartoons at the Cartoon Festival. He also released the cartoon book ‘Tulsi Sugandh’ based on the couplets of Saint Sri Tulsidas Ji at the cartoon festival.

He added that joining the cartoon festival is a matter of great joy for him. It is a great pleasure that the Cartoon Watch family has been working in the field of cartoons for 28 consecutive years. “Triambak Sharma is bringing out the full magazine of cartoons, which is a big deal. For this, I congratulate the Cartoon Watch family and wish them all the best,” the Chief Minister said.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said Cartoon Watch magazine has been on a continuous journey for 28 years. Cartoons are a medium that mirrors society. Cartoons sometimes tickle and sometimes give bitter taste. The cartoonist expresses the situation of the country with a pen. He gives a new direction to society. Cartoons and animations affect all sections of society, Singh added.

Raipur Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agarwal said that cartoonist Triambak Sharma has kept the cartoon genre alive. They are delivering cartoons to the new generation through the program.

On this occasion Dr K C Pant, who is associated with the cartoon industry and Chief Minister’s Press Officer Alok Singh and other people were honored.

Senior Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Haribhoomi and INH Dr Himanshu Dwivedi was the guest speaker on the occasion. Renowned cartoonists and dignitaries from the literature and art field besides cross section of the society were present in the program.
