The Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilapur, Justice Ramesh Sinha on Friday conducted a surprise inspection at the court complex of Janjgir-Champa district.
Justice Sinha inspected all the rooms of District Court, Family Court and Legal Services Authority. During the inspection there, he spotted disorderly parking in the premises, stray animals roaming in the court premises, seepage in the walls of the building at various places and washrooms being extremely unhygienic.
Expressing his displeasure over the mess ups, the Chief Justice directed the District Judge to resolve all the issues immediately. Today was the second consecutive day of surprise inspection by the Chief Justice. He also inspected the barrooms of the advocates and noted down their grievances before instructions to the authority concerned to redress it immediately.
The Chief Justice also held a joint meeting with all the judges of the district in the conference hall and instructed to speed up the trial to resolve the cases at the earliest while giving priority to the old cases spanning over 5 to 10 years.
The Registrar General of the High Court Arvind Kumar Verma was also present during the surprise inspection.
The Chief Justice had assumed the office just three months ago. Over the period, he had inspected the court complexes at Raipur, Bilaspur, Kanker, Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Korba, Katghora and Mungeli. He listed out the issues and asked the authorities to rectify the basic faults.
The frequent surprise inspection by the Chief Justice has facilitated improving basic facilities in the district courts and related subordinate courts of the state.
