Coal India Ltd(CIL), a Maharatna company, on Wednesday kicked off “Swachhata Hi Seva 2025”, a 15-day long campaign aiming for cleaner surroundings and stronger sanitation habits on its Corporate Headquarters in Kolkata.
From 17 September to 2 October, 2025 just ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, employees will pitch in to clean up dark spots, reduce e-waste and encourage community participation in cleanliness drive.
Dr Vinay Ranjan, Director (HR), CIL, administered the Swachhata Pledge to all its employees at CIL Atrium, Coal Bhawan, Kolkata. Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing), Asheesh Kumar, Director (Business Development), B. K. Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer and others participated in the Swachhata Pledge.
As part of Swachchta Hi Seva, Dr Vinay Ranjan, Mukesh Choudhary, Asheesh Kumar and B K Tripathy jointly flagged off the “Swachchta Ratha” and a “battery operated vehicle” for collecting e-waste so that people may get sensitize about the responsible waste disposal. Swachchta Rath will negotiate through different residential and commercial hubs in the Kolkata city to promote cleanliness and ensure public participations under the theme “Swacchotsav” campaign.
An e-Kiosk was also inaugurated as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign so that the employee may deposit their e-waste and other disposable items. The objective is to recycle e-waste materials for sustainable lifestyles.
A Nukkad Natak was performed at Coal India atrium to highlight the importance of Swachchta Hi Seva and responsible e-waste management.
