Sambalpur, March 28
B Sairam, Chairman, Coal India Limited (CIL), reviewed key mining operations and infrastructure during his visit to Talcher Coalfields at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
He inspected the newly commissioned Automatic Truck Loading System (ATLS) at Bhubaneswari Area and assessed operational progress at Bhubaneswari OCP and Ananta OCP. The Chairman lauded MCL for its continuous focus on sustainable and innovative mining practices and operational efficiency.
Later, the Chairman,engaged into discussions with public and union representatives, focusing on employee welfare and inclusive growth. While, in his address to the media, he highlighted Coal India’s strategic move towards diversification into solar and other renewable energy, alongside a continued focus on sustainable coal mining operations; introduction of various technologies and infrastructures such as silo, Automated Truck Loading system (ATLS) etc. to effectively mitigate dust pollution.
“Coal India ensures 80 per cent of the nation’s energy need, which will continue for a long time” the CIL Chairman added.
Uday Anant Kaole, CMD, MCL, along with Functional Directors of the company accompanied him during the visit.
Sairam, during his visit, appreciated the dedication and performance of employees and felicitated outstanding performers, including MCL personnel and contractors’ workers with a special acknowledgement to ‘Narishakti’ of MCL for their significant contributions.
The CIL Chairman is on a three-day maiden visit to MCL, during which he is scheduled to visit key mine areas and operational units of the company.
