Coal India climbs evacuation facility charge to Rs 60 per tonne

State-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) on Saturday said its board had approved a proposal to increase the coal evacuation facility charges.

The board also approved the rapid loading charges be subsumed with evacuation facility charges with effect from August 1, 2021, the coal miner said in a regulatory filing today. The evacuation facility charges will be enhanced to Rs 60 per tonne with effect from August 1, 2021, the company said, citing the outcome of the board meeting.  

The subsidiary board has been authorised to determine the evacuation facility charges to be charged from the consumers with the provision of annual review with effect from August 1, 2021.

The overall coal offtake of the CIL rose by 32.7 per cent to 160.4 million tonnes (MT) in the first quarter of the financial year 2021-22. The company’s overall offtake was at 120.8 MT in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the CIL had said in a statement.

Coal India Ltd (CIL) aims to achieve 1 billion tonnes of coal production by 2023-24.
