A coal-laden goods train caught fire at Parasnath railway station in Giridih of Jharkhand.
No one was injured in the incident, the railway officials said. The goods train was going from Mahuda to Haryana when guard spotted smoke from one of the wagons. The train was regulated at Parasnath railway station.
Within minutes, fire spread in 6 wagons of the train and was spreading fast. On receiving the information, fire tenders were rushed to the spot. After battling, the fire fighters extinguished it and the train chugged for destination.
According to railway officials, a major accident was averted due to the alertness of the train guard.
