CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra initiates the campaign in SECL and all operating areas

Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy launched “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” – Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2024 in Coal India and all subsidiaries in Dhanbad.
Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and Coal India Chairman P M Prasad were present on the occasion.
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra launched the Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2024 in the company and all of its operating areas by planting a sapling at SECL headquarters in Bilaspur.
SECL Director Technical (Operations) S N Kapri, Director (Finance) D Sunil Kumar, B K Jena General Manager (Forest & Environment), various department heads of the headquarters, officers and employees also participated in the tree plantation.
SECL is firmed in its commitment towards environmental protection. In FY 23-24, the company planted a record 10.77 lakh saplings in an area of more than 475 hectares against the target of 430 hectares, which was the highest among all the subsidiary companies of Coal India. Along with this, production started from a 20 MW ground-mounted grid-connected solar project in SECL’s Bhatgaon area in the year 23-24.
At the same time, work award was given for 4,000 kW roof-top solar projects in SECL headquarters and various operational areas. The use of about 15 electric vehicles also started in various operational areas of the company.
SECL’s targets to plant 12.50 lakh saplings this year For this financial year, SECL has got the target of planting 12.50 lakh saplings in an area of about 500 hectares in its operational areas spread across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, for which work has been started under the Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2024.
