CoBRA jawan injured in encounter with Maoists

Raipur, April 19

A jawan of CoBRA was injured in an encounter between security forces and outlawed Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

A joint team of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), a special operation unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) proficient in guerrilla tactics and jungle warfare, Chhattisgarh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) today morning launched an operation against the Maoists in Pengdapalli area. The densely forested pocket comes under the limits of Tarrem police station.

According to sources, a CoBRA jawan was injured during the encounter. He received a bullet on his leg. Sources said his condition was stable.

Further details were awaited as the encounter was reportedly going on.
