Raipur, April 29
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and called it a fuse bulb.
While talking to the media at Jaipur Airport, he said that Congress has now become irrelevant in the politics of the country. “Congress has become a fuse bulb, which has lost the trust of the people across the country,” he said, adding that now these people are trying to keep themselves relevant by giving absurd statements.
The Chief Minister was on a visit to Rajasthan for darshan at Mehandipur Balaji temple, where he was given a grand welcome by BJP workers. During an informal discussion with journalists at the airport, he made a sharp attack on the ‘Gaayab’ posters issued by the Congress and the Constitution Bachao rally.
Congress has done the biggest insult to the Constitution. Reacting to the Save Constitution rally organized recently by the Congress, Sai said that Congress had inflicted the biggest threat to the Constitution. Who killed democracy by imposing emergency in the country? Who put the leaders of non-Congress parties in jail? They amended the Constitution several times for their political interests. He further said that it does not suit those who have themselves been misusing the Constitution to talk about saving the Constitution. This is only a pre-tense, the public is seeing and understanding everything, he added.
The sharp statement of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister has intensified the stir in the political corridors of both Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Political rhetoric between BJP and Congress is at its peak before the assembly elections. The statement of Sai is being considered a part of the aggressive strategy of the BJP, whose aim is to put the Congress in the dock by reminding it of its old tenures.
