Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his return from three days stay in New Delhi ordered a statewide inquiry into the reports of fake and fabricated claims on Corona vaccinations of registered health workers.

Nitish said at Patna airport that the issue was serious. “I have asked for investigations in all the districts,” he said.

Bihar is among the top five states where Corona vaccination among the registered health workers was claimed to be about 80 per cent.

Health Minister Mangal Pandey said four doctors, including district civil surgeon of Jamui have been suspended and five health staff including an ANM and lab technician dismissed from service for fabricating documents to claim 100 per cent vaccination. The three doctors posted at Sikandara, Barhat and Jamui have been suspended for making false claims on vaccination.

State government today set up 12 teams of senior officers of health department to conduct investigations in all the districts to verify the claim of the local officers on Corona vaccination,

Leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav claimed the Corona vaccination scam was the biggest of the health scams in the state and recalled during the winter session of the legislature too he had raised the issue of bogus tests being conducted on the patients on papers only. Since the money and material of the Union government was involved in the Corona vaccination, the Centre should take over the investigation on the scam immediately, he said.
