Team conducts raids on an outlet in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh with the help of Police

Tata Steel officials, with the help of the Andhra Police, conducted a raid on Sri Laksmi Narasimha Industries in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh wherein counterfeit Tata Wiron Chain link fences were being sold in non-standard packaging.
Tata Wiron’s chain link fences are packaged in a unique manner and all original products are sold with the same packaging by authorised dealers and distributors.
Upon receiving information about the unscrupulous activity, Tata Steel along with Andhra Pradesh Police conducted a joint raid and seized 21 pieces of counterfeit product on November 2, 2021. FIR has been registered against the said entity under 420 section of IPC and 63 & 65 sections of the Copyright Act.
The unauthorised use of the Tata Wiron name is infringing on the Intellectual Property Rights of Tata Steel. The owners were selling fake chain link fences of substandard quality and selling it to consumers disguised as original Tata Wiron products.
Tata Steel’s products possess tremendous goodwill in the minds of the consumers by virtue of the quality of the products. Such unauthorised use of the Tata name on wire products, which do not meet the quality standards of Tata Steel products, hampers the reputation of Tata Steel. Tata Steel strongly condemns the misuse of trademarks and logos of Tata Steel and Tata Sons without our prior permission. In furtherance to protecting our brand reputation and goodwill, Tata Steel’s brand protection team continuously monitors and acts against entities which are infringing on the brand’s Intellectual property rights including counterfeiters.
Tata Steel will continue with these efforts in monitoring and acting against any such illegal activities which are negatively impacting its assets and the larger customer fraternity.
