Raipur, April 7
Country’s largest three-day poultry conclave kicked off at Raipur in Chhattisgarh on Monday.
The event is organised under the aegis IB Group and ABIS, a Chhattisgarh-based multi-diversified agri-biz conglomerate. “We have organized the poultry conclave with the idea of developing villages by staying in villages. Traders and farmers associated with poultry business from across the country will participate in it. IB Group has become so big today because of the people associated with it, so their development, their progress is most important. We will be able to move forward only when the people associated with us move forward, company Managing Director Bahadur Ali said at a press meet.
Company’s Director Zoya Afreen Alam and other senior officials of the company were present on the occasion.
“By making a developed poultry nation by 2035, we will contribute to the initiative of making a Viksit Bharat (developed India). Through developed poultry, they will eliminate protein deficiency in the country and make all citizens healthy and along with this, by making every household healthy and economically prosperous through all employment programs, Ali said. “We will create a healthy future for the coming generation,” he added. The IB Group is also encouraging people to take veg protein by producing soya chunks so that the idea of making Chhattisgarh the country’s first protein hub can be realized, Ali said.
Apart from this, through Sunhare Kal, they are providing education to the children of their employees who are not able to get proper education. Supporting the Lakhpati Didi scheme of the state government, they have brought Asmita Yojana in which they are being made self-reliant by teaching them poultry farming, Ali said.
While responding to the questions, the IB Group Chief said: “Sarpanchs of 10 villages have contacted us that we should come to their village and set up a farm because setting up a farm provides employment to the people in that area, which leads to the necessary progress in their lives.”
When IB Group opens a farm, about 300-500 youth and women get job near the village. The migration from the village also stops. At the same time, shops open at local level, transport increases, land rates also increase in that area, electricity is also available regularly.
IB Group is the only company in the country that is promoting poultry business by educating and training rural farmers. It is developing the farmers as well as their families, while most of the other companies only do business with them.
Currently, IB Group has 20 per cent share in poultry business in the country and it plans to achieve the target of 50 per cent.
Ali said today, farmers of Chhattisgarh cultivate paddy. In the coming future, after paddy, maize is going to be cultivated as the second crop in the whole of Chhattisgarh. The cost of paddy cultivation is high and water is also required. Therefore, the future will focus on maize cultivation. In the next 10 years, maize will become the safest and most cash crop in Chhattisgarh.
