Country’s youngest Mayor from Kerala to tie nuptial knot

Country’s youngest Mayor Arya Rajendra would soon tie the wedding knot.

The Mayor from Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram, Arya is marrying Balussery Legislator KM Sachin Dev within a month. The announcement was made by Sachin’s father KM Nandakumar on Wednesday.

He also said that the families have met and discussed the wedding. Arya Rajendran, who is the mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, shot to fame in 2020 when she became the mayor at the age of 21. Dev, who is 28 years old, won from the Balussery constituency in Kozhikode district by defeating Congress candidate and film star Dharmajan Bolghatty.

Arya and Sachin have known each other since student days and worked together in the Students Federation of India (SFI), the student’s wing of ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala. Sachin Dev is also the current All India joint secretary of the SFI.

“Since we share the same political ideology, it helps to understand each other very well. We decided to marry since we have known each other for a long time. We spoke to our parents and to the party after arriving at the decision,” Arya said.

Sachin is a graduate in English literature from Kozhikode government arts college and also in law from the Kozhikode law college. Arya contested to the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation when she was a graduate student.
