Raipur, December 16
The Labor Court Raipur has passed an important order in the industrial dispute case involving Adani Power Limited.
The court has directed to postpone the indefinite strike launched by the labor union from December 8, 2025 for six months or till further orders.
The labor union had presented a 16-point demand letter on March 9, 2025. The dispute was referred to court on December 5, 2025 after conciliation efforts failed. The union resorted to strike from December 8, 2025, due to which electricity production and distribution were affected.
In its order, the court made it clear that Adani Power Limited is involved in power generation and distribution and supplies electricity to the states of Gujarat and Kerala along with Chhattisgarh. As per the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 strike is prohibited during pendency of court case.
Based on the arguments and documents of both the parties, the court held that the public interest may be affected by the continuation of the strike.
In the interim order, the strike has been suspended for six months or till further orders. The labor union has been directed not to conduct any kind of strike, boycott or disruption during this period. Also, both the parties have been instructed to cooperate in the early resolution of the pending cases. The next hearing is scheduled on January 2, 2026.
Adani Power Limited in a statement said: “We respect the court’s order and are committed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers. Our priority is to follow the public interest and legal process.”
