COVID focus in NMDC’s awareness week

Employees working with the country’s largest iron-ore producer and exporter, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), took the integrity pledge to duly follow the health precautions suggested due to COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission, Vigilance Awareness Week – 2020 is being observed from October 27, 2020 to October 02, 2020 on the theme “Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India).”

In compliance with the same, Vigilance Awareness Week is also being observed at NMDC Ltd., the country’s Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). On the Inaugural day of the Week, Integrity Pledge for organisation was administered in Hindi by Sumit Deb, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) and for citizens in English by VVS Sreenivas, CVO to the employees at its Head Office, Hyderabad.

P K Satpathy, Director (Production) read out the message of the President of India while Alok Kumar Mehta, Director (Commercial) read out the message of the Vice-President of India. The Executive Directors B Sahoo and S Surender read out the messages of the Prime Minister and the Central Vigilance Commission, respectively.

The pledge administering ceremony was also Live-streamed across all the Projects, R and D, and Regional Offices (ROs) of NMDC Ltd. located in the states of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and New Delhi. It enabled another five thousand employees posted over there to take the Integrity Pledge simultaneously, duly following health precautions suggested due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Various activities including individual and inter-departmental competitions and sensitization programmes have been arranged and planned for the employees during the Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 at the NMDC.
