Dearness Allowance of Chhattisgarh employees raised by 5%

Bringing cheers to four lakh employees and over 1.25 lakh pensioners, Chhattisgarh government Saturday announced an increase of 5 percentage points to 17 percent in dearness and relief allowances, envisaging an annual outgo of Rs 1020 crore.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced an additional installment of Dearness Allowance to state government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners with effect from July 1, 2021, representing an increase of 5 percentage points over the existing rate of 12 percent of the basic pay/pension, to compensate for price rise. The announcement came after a delegation of employees and officers’ federation called on Baghel and held a discussion on the issue.

The Chief Minister also assured the employees that the state government would examine the pending arrears and take necessary steps for its early disbursement.
