Deendayal Port Authority crosses landmark of handling 100 MMT cargo traffic

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has crossed the landmark of handling 100 MMT cargo traffic in the financial year 2022-23.

The milestone was achieved on December 28, 2022. DPA became the first major port to cross the milestone in only three quarters of a fiscal year with a growth of 6.96 per cent over the corresponding period of the last fiscal.

In the last fiscal, DPA had achieved the milestone on January 11, 2022 .

support towards making DPA a MEGA PORT with State-of-the-Art handling facilities.

Located on the Gulf of Kutch, DPA is one of India’s major ports on the west coast. It is the largest port of India by volume of cargo handled.

The port will soon begin selecting developers for four clean cargo berths that together aim to handle 8 million tonnes of cargo. The four berths will be supported by a 14 m draft capable of handling 75,000 dwt vessels. The port has already received encouraging response from prospective bidders, for the project that is estimated to cost nearly Rs 500 crore.
