Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had reportedly threatened the BJP workers of dire consequences once the central forces retreat from the state.
The security personnel from the central para-military forces had been deployed in the state to ensure free and fair election. The Election Commission consider the state highly sensitive and Mamata Banerjee endorse it by her statements and skirmishing approach towards opponents specially the BJP.
The saffron group had consolidated its position in the state and had posed a major challenge for Mamata Banerjee to retain power for another successive term. The desperation could be seen in the act and conduct of West Bengal Chief Minister.
In a fresh salvo, she shot out a warning to the BJP workers fuming that she would come after them once the central forces retreated from the state after election. She was addressing a rally in Nandigram, from where she is contesting the election. The BJP had pitted her old confident Suvendu Adhikari against her. Facing tough challenge from Adhikari, the TMC leaders had been lodging regular complaint against the BJP candidate with the poll panel in a vain attempt to keep the pressure.
“I keep knowledge of every inch of the elections. After the election, the security personnel sent by the central government will go back, but if our government is formed then the BJP supporters will plead with folded hands for the central security forces to be stationed for a few more days so that they (BJP supporters) could be saved,” she said.
