Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Guru Ghasidas Jayanti programme

Chhattisgarh can be transformed into a developed state only by following the path of truth, equality and humanity shown by Baba Guru Ghasidas, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Thursday.

He said the state government is working with sustained commitment towards building an egalitarian justice-oriented and prosperous Chhattisgarh in line with the ideals and dreams of great personalities. The Chief Minister was addressing the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and three-day fair programme organised at Lalpur in Mungeli district.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a new college at Lalpur, enhancement of financial assistance for organising the fair and programme from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, approval of Rs 25 lakh for construction of an entrance gate at the programme venue, and Rs 25 lakh for renovation of the Mungeli Satnam Bhavan.

At the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Baba Guru Ghasidas temple and Jaitkham, seeking blessings for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the people of the state.

Sai said that during the completion of two years of the government, most of the guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been fulfilled. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is fully committed to procuring paddy from every eligible farmer.

He said that over the past two years, there has been a significant increase in both the area under paddy cultivation and the number of farmers. He added that 70 lakh women in the state are benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Transparency is being ensured in the PSC selection process, he said. The Chief Minister also stated that a new industrial policy has been implemented in the state to enable children from every section of society to become entrepreneurs. He called upon everyone to work together for building a developed Chhattisgarh. On the occasion, the Satnam Code of Conduct and an awareness calendar were also released.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that the Anusuchit Jati Vikas Pradhikaran has been strengthened by increasing its budget from Rs 50 crore to Rs 75 crore. Cabinet Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb said that inclusive development of all sections of society is taking place in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He said the government’s decision to provide financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh each to five talented boys and girls from the Scheduled community for pilot training reflects its farsightedness.

Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel, MLA Doman Lal Korsewada, former MLA Sanam Jangde, District Panchayat President Shrikant Pandey, Vice-President Smt Shanti Devcharan Bhaskar, Janpad President Lormi Smt Varsha Vikram Singh, Nagar Panchayat President Sujit Verma, along with several public representatives, distinguished citizens and a large number of followers of the Satnami community, were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also attended the program to celebrate Baba Guru Ghasidas Jayanti at Khaira–Setganga Dham in Mungeli district on December 18. Addressing the programme, he stated that Guru Ghasidas Baba inspired society to follow the path of equality, harmony and humanity. His teachings continue to strengthen social unity, brotherhood and mutual respect even today.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai performed traditional pooja at the Jaitkhamb, offered palo, and paid obeisance at the Gurugaddi and Ram Janaki Temple. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity and overall welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Making significant announcements for the holistic development of Setganga Dham, the Chief Minister approved Rs. 50 lakh for the construction of a community hall, Rs. 50 lakh for the development of the Ram Janaki Temple as tourism destination, and Rs. 10 lakh for organising the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti programme. 

Chief Minister Sai extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the completion of two years of the state government and on the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee year. He stated that projects related to roads, power supply, security and development are progressing at a rapid pace throughout the state. State Government is consistently providing the benefits of various public welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, to the people of state.

The Chief Minister  stated that paddy is being procured from farmers at the rate of Rs. 3,100 per quintal. He added that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance is being provided to more than 70 lakh women with the objective of their economic empowerment. To ensure administrative transparency, the e-Office system is being promoted, and concrete and effective steps are also being taken towards the elimination of Naxalism.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao highlighted the historical and religious significance of Setganga Dham and said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is steadily moving forward on the path of development.

Cabinet Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb and Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel also extended greetings on Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of society. MLA Shri Punnulal Mohle shed light on the life, thoughts and ideals of Guru Ghasidas Baba. 

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel , MLAs Punnulal Mohle, Dharamlal Kaushik, Sushant Shukla, Doman Lal Korsewada, Smt Bhawna Bohra and large number of public representatives, eminent citizens and followers of the Satnami Panth were present.
