On the occasion of World Environment Day, 450 students participated in the state level speech and poster competition organized by Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board (CECB).
The theme of the competitions, organised on Sunday, was “Reducing the use of single use plastic by bringing changes in personal habits and behaviours”. Speech competition was organised for two age groups of 13 to 17 years and 18 to 21 years while poster competition was held for three age groups that included first upto 12 years, second between 13 and 17, and third in the age group of 18 to 21 years.
CECB spokesperson said about 450 school and college students participated in the competitions organized at the state level.
In the speech competition, Divyanshi Panda from Delhi Public School (DPS) and Grashi Kashyap from Radiant Way School jointly bagged the first prize while second prize went to Chinmay Singh Chandel from Shahid Smarak English Medium School and Vidhi Deepa Malviya of Delhi University. Shreya Mishra from Swami Atmanand Shaheed Smarak school Fafadih and Kanchan Adil from Yoganandam college had to satisfy with the third position. One consolation prize was also given.
Similarly, in the poster competition Neha Kosle of Pujari GEM Excellence School, Raja Talab, Aditya Chaurasia from RD Tiwari School, Raipur and Ritik Pahariya from Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Post Graduate College, Mahasamund bagged the first prize followed by Dishita Nagarchi of KPS Dunda, Ujjwal Gupta from Adarsh Vidyalaya Tatibandh and Mahant Aanchal Chaurasia of Lakshminarayan Das College, Raipur.
Third prize was bagged by Kirti Kumar from Primary School Kamardera, Mahasamund, Sanjana Sahu from JB International School, Tilda and Alok Patela of PG KCB. College, Bhilai. The three consolation prizes were also given.
