The state government has appointed Dr Ajay Khemaria, director of the Mangalam Organization in Shivpuri, which works for Divyangjan (Persons with Disabilities), as the Commissioner for Divyangjan of Madhya Pradesh.
Dr Khemaria’s position will be equivalent to that of a state government secretary. The Commissioner’s office functions as a Disability Tribunal and is responsible for enforcing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. He was selected by the government based on the recommendation of a three-member state-level search committee.
Currently serving as the Director of the Mangalam Organization, Dr Khemaria has previously held positions including Chairman of the Child Welfare Committee, member of the Juvenile Justice Board, and roles with the Citizens Cooperative Bank and the PG College Management Committee.
