Union Minister of state for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Chaubey on Sunday admitted that as Bihar’s Urban Development Minister, he had taken a leaf out of the book written by Dr Bhagwati Sharan Mishra in rationalisation of municipal taxation in the State.
Speaking as chief guest at Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan here on the occasion of birth anniversary of the late IAS officer Dr Bhagwati Sharan Mishra, Chaubey said Dr Mishra’s book on municipal taxation was the guide for municipal commissioners in other states.
The Union Minister said Dr Mishra was a father figure for him. He had written over 100 books on administration, culture, religion and spirituality too. Chaubey referred to Aranya, an epic form book written by Dr Mishra on the deity of Danteshwari Devi of Dantewara in Chhattisgarh.
The book presented details of culture and practices in the tribal region of Bastar, Chaubey said and added his books on Guru Govind Singh, Lord Hanuman, Budha and Ram also gave readers an intelligent insight on different religions.
Kishore Kunal, trustee of the Mahabir Mandir, said Dr Mishra was an IAS officer and he was an IPS officer. It is very difficult for a civil servant to devote space and time for writing books. Kunal recalled Dr Mishra had written Pawanputra book on the Mahabir Mandir of Patna.
Justice Sanjay Kumar of Patna High Court, former Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice Rakesh Kumar, Usha Mishra, senior advisor to UNO, currently posted in Kabul, were also present.
Anil Sulabh, President of the 104 years old Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Presided over the function that was followed by a Kavi Sammelan .
