An entrepreneur from Chhattisgarh’s Durg district had invented an acoustic devise that would scare away animals that had been the biggest enemy of farmers damaging standing crops.
The device would also work with a solar panel.
The farmers had been battling with the issue of crops damage caused by wildlife including bears, monkeys, elephants, pigs. Many farmers use illegal methods to keep away animals by spreading electric wires on the ridges of the fields and flow electricity supply in it resulting in killing of wildlife.
Sanjay Choubey of Tadesra in Rajnandgaon district has designed a device that makes multiple sounds like firing, fireworks besides making a noise in the voice of the man and people present in large numbers.
The device has a timer. Wildlife often moves after dusk and the device would be activated accordingly. The electric powered device would also have a small solar panel that would keep the device running even in the case of a power failure.
It had been priced according to the common farmers’ pocket.
The idea of investing the device came from his own experience. The factory of Sanjay Choubey was reeling with the problem of monkeys that had been harassing and harming the employees. “The thought came why a device should not be invented to scare away the monkeys and thus the equipment was ready,” Choubey said.
