In a historic milestone, the remote village of Timenar in Bijapur district has been electrified for the first time in 77 years of independence under the Chief Minister’s Majra-Tola Electrification Scheme.

The remarkable achievement signifies the end of Maoist terror and the dawn of development, peace, and prosperity in the region.

Today, light has replaced fear, and hope has replaced despair in Timenar. With 100 per cent electrification of all 53 households, the village is witnessing an unprecedented wave of joy and optimism.

The villagers of Timenar, an extension of Bechapal Gram Panchayat in Bhairamgarh Block, had never seen the glow of electricity for generations. However, with the government’s unwavering commitment to development, essential public welfare initiatives are now reaching these remote areas, integrating them into the mainstream society.

Residents affirm that the arrival of electricity has not only eliminated the atmosphere of fear and insecurity but has also significantly improved their quality of life.

The voices from the village – “No More Fear, Only Light and Happiness!” Local residents Mashram, Pandru Kunjam, Mangli and Pramila expressed their happiness, saying: “For the first time, our village has electricity. We no longer fear the darkness of night, and we are free from the threats of wild animals, snakes, and scorpions. Our children can now study easily, and we finally feel part of the path to development.”

With the electrification of Timenar, other basic infrastructure such as roads, healthcare, and education facilities are also being strengthened.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated his government’s commitment to electrifying every Majra-Tola and accelerating development in Maoist-affected regions. “Where there was once the shadow of Maoist terror, today the rays of development shine. This transformation is the true victory. The electrification of Timenar signals the beginning of a new era of governance and growth in the remote regions of Bastar. This region is now moving towards prosperity and progress, free from the fear of Maoist violence,” Sai said.

Timenar’s electrification marks a turning point in the fight against extremism. The government’s efforts to bring sustainable development to the most remote and conflict-ridden areas of Chhattisgarh reflect its commitment to peace, security, and prosperity.
