Bhopal, January 7

Evicted under an anti-encroachment drive in Khargone, local traders have taken a weird vow of becoming terrorists.

The Madhya Pradesh government led by Shivraj Chouhan has launched an encroachment eviction drive in the state. The district of Khargone was no exception.

The local civic body along with police and revenue department jointly took action against the illegal encroachers in Bhikangaon, about 40 km from the district headquarters. The team was led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Omnarayan Singh and SDOP Praveen Uike.

The authorities demolished illegally constructed 32 commercial shops in Jhirnya Road, Chota Chouraha and Jetgad Marg localities amidst strong resistance and ruckus from the local traders. Construction in 4200 square feet area worth Rs 1 crore 69 lakh were brought down with the help of Bulldozer and JCB.

Irked over the incident, a social activist and Gaushala chief of Bhikangaon administered a pledge to the shopkeepers to become terrorists and Naxalites and made the video viral on social media.

The traders said their decades old shops had been demolished and they have been rendered jobless. “So we all swear that now we will become terrorists and Naxalites,” they swore. This video is now becoming very viral on social media.

While the officials are shocked to see the clip, another issue had made them concern. The traders have challenged that they will attack the houses of   administrative officials.
