Hyderabad, January 23
An ex-serviceman from Hyderabad allegedly killed his wife and attempted to cover up the crime by chopping up the body and boiling the parts in a pressure cooker.
Guru Murthy (45), who works as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), allegedly confessed to the police. However, the horrific story is yet to be corroborated.
Venkata Madhavi, 35, went missing on January 16. When the police began investigating, they suspected her husband and interrogated him. During questioning, he revealed the details of the gruesome crime.
According to police officials, the parents of Venkata had lodged a missing complaint. The husband also came with them. “We grew suspicious and questioned him. He confessed to this crime,” the officials said.
Guru Murthy reportedly told the police that he chopped up his wife’s body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a cooker. He went on to separate the bones, according to the account, ground them using a pestle and boiled them again. After multiple rounds of cooking flesh and bones for three days, he allegedly packed the remains and dumped them into a Lake.
The police said they were verifying the claims. The couple has two children, a boy and a girl.
The police suspect the quarrel between the couple could be the possible reason for the shocking incident. However, the detailed investigation would reveal the fact.
