Lucknow, January 4
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of the Parliament Farooq Abdullah Tuesday joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra near Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The former Chief Minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir joined the second leg of the Yatra led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. The party President appreciated the Congress MP for promoting the cause of national integrity and strengthening democratic values through the Yatra.
“The yarta celebrates the country’s incredible diversity, pluralism and democratic values which were bequeathed to us by the founding fathers of our nation,” he said.
Abdullah said the yatra has brought forth the real issues concerning the people and blunted the weapons of communalism by sharpening the message of unity in diversity. “I pass on my best wishes to Rahul Ji and his associates who are on the march to spread awareness among fellow countrymen on issues that should concern us all”.
The former Special Director of the Indian Intelligence Bureau and former Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) A S Dulat also joined the yatra today. Dulat, who also served as an advisor on J&K in the Vajpayee government after his retirement, had termed Kashmir Files as a propaganda film.
He had said many more Muslims than Pandits left Kashmir. There was no massacre of Pandits. Using the word Genocide for what happened to them is wrong.
