Felicitation for SECL on CIL Foundation day

Southern Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a flagship arm of the state-run Coal India Limited (CIL), has bagged the first prize for effectively executing the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) policy.

Besides, General Manager of Raigarh Region Sanjay Mishra has been awarded the Best Area General Manager Award for his outstanding performance in the area. The Raigarh coalfields come under the mining orbit of the SECL.

The Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of SECL, A P Panda received the award at the 47th Foundation Day of the CIL held at the company’s headquarters in Kolkata. The SECL has bagged the first prize for its outstanding performance in the field of rehabilitation and resettlement of project affected people, and serving the social causes.

Union Minister of Coal Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of State for Coal Raosaheb Patil Danve, Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain (IAS) graced the occasion through the virtual platform. CIL Chairman Pramod Kumar Agrawal (IAS) gave away the awards.

Sanjay Mishra, General Manager of the Raigarh region of the company has bagged the Best Area General Manager Award. In the financial year 2020-21, SECL had produced and dispatched coal more than the target set in Raigarh area and registered a profit of over Rs 200 crore. In the first quarter of the financial year 2021-22 also, Raigarh area has registered an increase in OB removal, production and offtake as compared to the previous year.

Sanjay Mishra was given the charge of Regional General Manager of Kusmunda Mega Project last week. He has worked in important underground and opencast projects in WCL, ECL and NCL.

General Manager (Production) of SECL S N Kapri  has been awarded the Best HOD. Presently, he is posted in SECL Baikunthpur Area as General Manager. He started his career in 1987 from the Hasdeo area.

In the financial year 2020-21, SECL has made a record of producing more than 150 million tonnes of coal for the third consecutive year.
