The 80 youths imparted training were successfully placed

NTPC, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, has been actively implementing various skill development programs aimed at empowering underprivileged communities, fostering self-employment, and promoting entrepreneurship.
In this context, NTPC Mining Limited (NML) in Ranchi has sponsored skill development training for 80 youth, 25 including girls, from project-affected areas surrounding its coal mining operations in Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. This initiative is in collaboration with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Ranchi.
CIPET provided job-oriented training in two key courses: Machine Operator – Plastic Processing and Machine Operator – Injection Moulding.
Recently, the first batch of the Machine Operator – Plastic Processing course, consisting of 40 students from various NTPC coal mining projects—including Pakri Barwadih, Chatti Bariattu, Kerendari, Badam, Banardih, Dulanga, and Talaipalli has successfully completed their training, which commenced on March 20, 2024, and concluded with job placements on September 19, 2024.
At the valedictory program, Rajnish Rastogi, Chief General Manager (HR), NTPC Coal Mining HQ along with Pravin Bachhav, Joint Director & Head of CIPET, Ranchi, interacted with the students and distributed course completion certificates and job placement letters to encourage the rural students and Project Affected Persons (PAPs) from NTPC coal mining projects.
During his address, Rastogi congratulated the students on their successful completion of the course and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. He also commended the CIPET management for their efforts in nurturing the students’ talents and facilitating their placements in various companies.
The second batch for the Machine Operator – Injection Moulding skill development course is currently underway and will complete its training in December 2024.
