Former Islampur MLA and Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) Chairman Rajiv Ranjan passed away in New Delhi on Thursday night.
He was also the former Chairman of Jharkhand State Electricity Board. Rajiv Ranjan was rushed to a private hospital after complaining of chest pain late this evening where doctors declared him dead.
Ranjan had a long tenure as the Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board. He was appointed Chairman in the Raman Singh government.
After leaving the post, he moved to Patna where he joined JDU. He studied at Bihar Engineering College with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Rajiv Ranjan was the national spokesperson of JDU and was also an MLA from Islampur constituency.
He also had a brief stint with the BJP in Bihar.
